My Growing Tenant!

My growing tenant, I wonder who are you,

A boy or a girl, with heart full of love, I await to welcome you

A few months back, the size of a pea,

Inside my womb, I wonder what all you get to see

Happy or sad, each moment, I wonder how you feel,

The amniotic fluid, I hope you don’t get bored of having the same meal

When I burst out of laughter or for when I cry,

At the end of a busy day when I feel tired, I wonder if you also sigh

Inside the womb, like a whirlpool,

I wonder if you abide by my schedule, or make your own rules

To be crushed and twisted by the jerks of the mother,

I wonder if you enjoy the scans as much as I do or just find it a bother

At times I feel sorry to keep you imprisoned for nine whole months,

But I secretly hope you’re enjoying this ride, being upside down, each day bringing whole lot of new stunts

While I sometimes climb the stairs and at times I sit on the floor,

I wonder if you would wanna stay in longer or come out much before,

I may just be a bump at the moment, but I love you more than you ever know,

In my effort to watch, read and listen to all good things, the right values in you I wish to sow,

I wait for your arrival, while imagining your face and eyes,

I wonder if my bump is a comfortable space for you or just the right size

The wheel of birth and death is never at rest

I wish for you nothing but the best

My growing tenant, you will soon outgrow and leave this space,

To be out for good, I’ll forever remember and cherish this phase.
